Default Going to the junkyard tomorrow

A Disco II is being parted out near me and tomorrow I'm going to check it out. The main reason I'm going is to take out the third row seats, trim, headrests and hydraulic step (all for $150). I thought that would be a good weekend project sometime soon.

Does anyone have any recommendations on any other parts or accessories I should take a look at while I'm there.

I'm new to Land Rovers and the forum, so please be kind :-)

Be sure to take the cargo area floor if you don't already have third row seats. You'll need the latch hooks.

It would be helpful for us (not to mention you) to know what model/year you have and the same for the wreck so folks can tell you what would fit and what wouldn't.

Hopefully that is putting it kind enough.

Thanks Dave. Yes, I've talked with some people who have done the swap.

Dont forget hazards and downhill decent switches- They are both latching switches too. And the pigtails of course.
(is the rear fog switch on earlier D2's latching? Mine are BCM "pulse" switches)

Anything pretty like a ladder or safari rack, grab n' go. Holds true for any other accessories on the '04.

If the vehicle has the same engine as you grab a few spare parts like the coil packs, alternator, MAF sensor, cam position sensor, etc. Just be aware that the parts your taking might not be 100%, so pay accordingly.

Also depending on how much off roading you do a second spare tire is never a bad idea.

Make sure your intake air plenum is good.( The plactic piece where the windshield wipers are mounted) If it's cracked check the junk one to see if it's good. If water leaks in, it could end up on the ECU's and blower motor. "A" pillar covers are pretty expensive and hard to find used if you change the air plenum, you may need one or both. If it has trailer electrical connection you may want the module inside the passenger taillight area. If you plan to ever tow anything. Taillight guards.etc.
