Good 18inch tires for snow?
So today I found out my tires are ok in snow. I have Goodyear wrangler HP tires and they are ok but not as stable as I have seen some other tires act.
I live in NYC and have 18inch rims on my D2. I want something I can use all year and perform well in snow/ice. I don't offroad but do ski and roadtrips.
I would like to spend no more than 200-250 a tire. I read about duratracs but they don't have the right size for my rims and are a bit pricey.
Lastly what's the biggest tire I can have without rubbing?

I'll second the General Grabber AT2's. I just had them installed a couple weeks ago. I went with 255/60/18. They went on the night before about 6" of snow here in Indiana and performed very well the next day. Previous owner had highway tires on it and they made the snow a less than desirable experience.

I call a local store of a national discount tire chain (America's Tire) to ask about General Grabber AT2. They stock other General tires and I wanted to check lead time to order the AT2's... Guy told me that they were on a "national backorder" status and that it typically was a classification for tire model or design that is being phased out. They are out of stock and can not get a commitment from General on delivery of new tires.
Anybody else here this....?

I don't know about a phase out, but I ordered from discount tire as well. Other local suppliers told me they were on back order too. Discount tire didnt mention the back order but said they couldn't give me an exact date on delivery due to them coming from the manufacturer. They estimated 7 days, I ordered on no obligation and they arrived in 3. Your mileage may vary.
