Default Is it a good deal and what should I look for?

I have located a 2004 land rover discovery se with 49,000 miles. From the looks of it its all original and woman owned. I am going to look at it on thursday and after looking through this site have some questions to ask. Are there any other major questions to ask? Also are the 2004s more reliable than older models (based off online reading on relability). I love the way they look and command the road but i also dont want to get into a total money pit. I do understsand regular maintance is a must for any car. Anyway any information would be very appriciated. BTW is being offered at 11k or best offer.....

thanks for any and all information

your right!

means she either babied it and had it in for service exactly when it needed it,,,OR

she drove with the check engine light on and ignored it for a year. "forgot" she needed to have the oil changed for 3 years. or any other list of nightmarish things i have had friends tell me their wives or girlfriends do with a car.

my favorite was a gal i used to know in school who drove her brand new honda crv for a few years then told me of a rattling sound in the engine. i pulled the stick and all that came out with the dip stick was some dried up crust on the end of it. i asked her the last time she had her oil changed,,, her reply,,,

"you have to do that"?

i almost had to bash my head into a wall to stop the sinking and swirling in my head hahahaa

HAHA I to have heard those type of stories.. What are some key questions to ask her when I go look at it tomorrow night? Anything otehr than maintance records?

Also have the 2004 models been more reliable (assuming all maintance is up to date) than previous model years?

My concerns were confirmed, the disco has zero maintenance records since she has owned the truck. I since informed her that I was not interested as I would rather pay a little bit more and know 100% what I am getting.

i would have asked where she had it serviced. original owner?

if at the LR dealership, then they have the records. if not at the LR dealership, then I would pass it up.

the guy I bought the LR from was an original owner and had the service warranty.
