That's GREAT, but unfortunately, here in the US, that means a savings of about $0.02 per gallon.

Yeah, we're at the point here where they won't lower prices anymore no matter how glutted the market is.

@ .02 cents cheaper you'd save 108$ a year if you drove 1500 miles a month at roughly $3.00 a gallon averaging 300 miles per tank of gas. I'd say I'm okay with .02 cents, cheaper than no improvement at all

I am always amazed when I visit the UK and with fuel prices 2X our prices (in Canada) just how many Rovers there are on the road. Well, we can only hope that Keystone is finally approved (the refineries are retrofitted for the heavy oil in Texas), and the pipeline is almost finished). Then, when the Middle East explodes (which it will), the spike will not be as bad should the US have reliable oil flowing to it from Canada.

Yeah, but the US is VERY slow to pass the savings on to the consumers.

Cheapest here in Placerville, CA, $3.30-$3.60/gallon regular to premium.
You drive 1500 miles a month in your Disco? Ouch!
I do about 500/mo in the Disco and run Regular.

Yours:
1500mi/mo /12mpg = 125 Gallons/mo
125 Gallons X $3.00/gal = $375/mo = $4500/yr
125 Gallons X $2.98/gal = $372.5/mo = $4470/yr = Savings of $30/yr (Not Bad)

Mine:
500mi/mo / 13.5mpg = 37.04 Gallons/mo
37.04 Gallons X $3.30/gal = $122.23/mo = $1466.78/yr
37.04 Gallons X $3.28/gal = $121.49/mo = $1457.89/yr = Savings of $8.89/yr (2 Starbucks Coffee's)

I was just goin by averages, here in Las Vegas you normally commute to "The Strip" for work, and its normally 20-30 miles a day, then I added my drive to school, which is 35-40 miles too . My disco gets 16 (+/- 2) mpg average per tank. I was just sayin .02$ could be a game changer if you drive a lot

The largest percentage of US oil comes from the Americas. People talk so much about Saudi Arabia, but do you know where most of our oil comes from? The USA. Next? Canada.
