It is made by Johnson Controls in Holland MI.
It was a Consumer Reports Best Buy when I bought it.
I did not know that Johnson Controls made the Duralast Gold Batteries. That explains why they are so good.

On the other hand Johnson Controls makes Optima batteries and they suck. LOL

For the record, the Platinum is made by Enersys, the people who make Odyssey batteries.
The Diehard Gold and Duralast aren't AGM batteries so it's not exactly apples to apples when comparing price.
Plus size for size you're getting a higher capacity and zero maint battery in the AGM.

Bought an Everstart Maxx from Walmart a few months back and couldn't be happier...I believe it's one of the best, if not the best, bang for your buck...did quite a bit of research before I bought it.

CCAs are very good, plus IIRC they are also manufactured by Johnson Controls.

You also get the added benefit of being able to go to any of the 8 billion Wally Worlds across the US and get a free replacement if it does crap out for some reason.

You are right Tom. The Optima batteries suck. The Odysseys are the best AGM batteries.

If only. But I can my cables snipped 12 years ago. LOL

I was using Exide Orbitals (better specs/price/warranty than optima) but as they died switched to the Diehard Platinum.
