Default Got lucky with my new wheel.

Its been a long months of searching. Got a high mileage disco with sticky worn out steering wheel. Got this Museum Quality Land Rover Discovery Series 2 Black Leather Steering Wheel | eBay
Only problem now, will the airbag deploy if I install this? Should I remove one battery terminal before installation?

Museum Quality- ha, love the title. It certainly is very clean. Good find.

I would error on the side of caution and pluck the negative cable.

Did you look it up in the mx manual? Information is in there on R&R of wheel and a reference to the SRS system to help prevent accidental deployments. If you don't have the manual ask how to get it or search as it's easy to find.

What manual recommends +erring for 10 minutes prior to starting work.

I just did the same thing – got one off ebay and swapped it out. It was very easy. There's a youtube video here:

As a precaution, disconnect the battery and leave it to sit for a good five minutes before starting work. Having the right torx wrenches is key for this job, but otherwise it's simple.

If I'm not mistaken, that's Paul Grant's Ebay store. That man has seen more steering wheels and trucks than most of us combined.

Never forget when I went up there to pick up a rear bumper and some headlights. He had 5 trucks in various states of dis-assembly, and multiple storage areas for parts.

Really nice guy too, ended up talking for an hour about cars.

LR03NJ - Disconnect negative terminal, wait the 10 minute waiting period and remove airbag. That way, you should also have no airbag codes on re-assembly.

Yah, saw his name on the receipt and even mention on my reply to him that I might have seen his name on this forum a lot.
