Default Got my hawkeye and got rid off my 3 amigos

I just received my Hawkeye and playing with it, it is a pretty cool little diagnostic scanner. Worth $650? Well since nothing else does what it does it is pretty close. A definite yes if it was completely unlocked for all models but I guess it is Omitec's way of looking out for their testbook system (who would drop $3K if you can get this for all models?).

Anyhow I scanned my ABS codes and discovered that my Hub was in fact causing the Amigos (codes 4021 and 4086) and since I replaced the Hub a while back I don't expect them to come back. Also I got rid of my P1509 rough road fault, which btw that code alone illuminates the ABS light.

I will post more on the Hawkeye capabilities but so far it is a pretty deep machine for a handheld scanner.

When I get a chance, maybe after my daughter goes to bed this evening I will go through all the menus and write down everything you can do. Pretty much any light and switch in the truck can be tested via the scanner. This includes the ABS and SLS system. I can turn on the ABS sitting still with truck turned off, pretty cool. Wonder about your rear brake cylinder just close it and open it. Doing your brakes just open the cylinders instead of forcing them open with a clamp.

Swing by and we can scan things it only takes half a minute. I'm not sure how I feel about loaning out (as in being out of my possession) my brand new toy though, no offense meant.

The ABS Amigo is "only" $200. I think it is a great little scanner.

Where abouts is Lantham? I will be in the Long Island/Queens area for Thanksgiving and can bring the scanner with me then if you want to meet up.
