Ordering from RN today. I received a motorad from bputah and am hesitant to use it with all the bad reviews. I guess I'll keep it for a spare. I'll report back with temp numbers before and after.

 

Installed mine last night, motorad, not the grey LR one. Also, switched out the dexcool. Not sure of the exact temp drops yet but I do know that my condensor fan stopped running all the time. Will post my numbers when i get them.

 

I put in a Motorad a few month ago and no problems yet, except when i first installed it along with my new rad my temps were 190-195 and now they seem to have crept up a bit 194-201. maybe i got some junk stuck in the t-stat. just test the motorad t-stat before you install it.

 

Is there a significant price difference or availability issue with the OEM Grey warm weather t-stats? Why would anyone buy a Motorad with not only all of the issues posted here, but the fact that they run 10-15 degrees hotter?

 

With free amazon shipping its half the price. Also, when I checked rovers north 2 weeks ago for the grey it said 10 day wait to ship.

 

We'll have a dozen or so coming next Friday, we just got 5 in today that were all sold. I try to tell the purchasing department to keep up!
