Default Hard to find components

For those of us that frequent junk yards to pick over the Discos sentenced for the crusher, what are you guys looking out for?
What parts are getting harder to source new and do you foresee being unavailable in the future from online stores?

Gauge cluster surround? Sunroof drip rail frames? Basically any plastics inside the car?

Thanks!

Nothing scream compensation like a pair of nuts hanging off the back of a truck... that's why I have two sets!

I think I'll start grabbing 03-04 headlights. Maybe even start an HID conversion service with retrofits.

^^that's on my list of things to do as well. Like the older style looks better but the light output is just dreadful and none of my aux lights are road legal (let's be serious none of them truly are unless it's a dedicated fog pattern in some instances).

I get excellent output from 99-02 D2 head light assemblies! I use either Sylvania ZXE’s, PIAA, or LED’s. My 04 head lights are okay, but nothing to brag about. Key is to make absolutely certain you re-aim them after lifting your D2. Makes a HUGE difference.

Mine could use some adjusting but the halogens and even LEDs won't hold a candle to a good HID projector retrofit. With the wildlife in CO I'll take all the legal output I can get, seen too many wrecks involving Elk and Moose

The LED’s I grabbed off of Ebay actually work very very well. They’ve got 360 LED’s and are not insanely bright. They also have a great cut-off. I’ve had them in my 99 D2 for almost 2 years now. It took me 2 sets to get one that wasn’t like a light bar with insane light going everywhere. The only thing that is funny to me is the high beam function. It changes the height but the light output is the same so I honestly never touch em anymore on the 99 D2.

If I really really wanted to go nuts I’d do the Molded Plastic or SS kit I’ve seen that lets you run a standard H6024 7inch round headlight, then I’d use some Trucklite or JW Speaker LED’s and be done with it. I had some on my 05 Wranglers & it was amazing!
