I replaced my front and rear OEM shocks (still factory) with brand new Terrafirma standard height shocks and I'm finding the ride to be quite harsh.

It's been two weeks.

Does it take some time for them to adjust/settle? Or is something wrong?

I also changed my rear air suspension bags at the same time too (one of the old ones had a slow leak).

Did you do the front springs as well?

 

Yeah I changed the front ones: https://dobinsons.com/landrover/land...c51-032-detail — the ride height turned out pretty much factory on the front.

But the back (with airbags) is harshness/rough too…

Maybe something is buggered?

 

Terrafirma shocks are definitely not as smooth as factory. They are valved differently. Being honest I am not a fan of the TF shocks

Can’t take them back just because I don’t like them, sadly?

Wasn’t easy getting the front ones in and out…

Should have gone for the Cellular Dynamic ones for the same price (but much longer shipping to here in Australia), or the Bilsteins

Do you think the TF will soften up? Or there’s anything I can do to improve ride quality?

 

I've had TF shocks on all three of my Discos. Much better than the ancient stock ones that were on there, and I really don't have any complaints. I have nothing else to compare them to, but you shouldn't be expecting a Disco to be a cushion.
Shocks aren't the primary thing you should be looking at though. They mostly control damping. The springs are what do the majority of the work.

 

did you get new tires as well? tires can play a huge role in ride quality....

 

In the rear it’s just new airbags and new shocks though…

Or reckon something broke? Like the watts linkage

Changed from factory to Yellow Britpart Heavy Duty ...

Noticed a really harsh ride .. now it's gone down . but not like the factory ... got Britpart .. because I was betting it would turn to **** quicker .. I was looking for medium duty that could not get any worse.
