Default HDC not working

I'm having an issue with the HDC on my 01 Disco' Every month I check the thing and this month it's not working. Or I'm doing it wrong. I don't have any ABS codes, the ABS is working so is the traction control.

I stop, put the car in neutral put the transmission in "1" and start rolling. I then press the HDC button and the thing just chimes and flashes. It used to chime start flashing faster then go solid.

Any thoughts?

Solved this today, just being stupid I suppose. On my 01' you have to press the HDC button, then go into 4 low and then 1st gear. The order seems to be crucial.

Why are you testing it monthly, they rarely fail.

Theres no order needed to be done, you just have to be in LOW box for it to work

@Mike, just been doing this since I repaired the abs modulator, guess I'm still stunned that the darn thing works so well now.

@Urban, I tried doing it every which way, and tried it again when I went to lunch. It only works if I do as I posted. I hope it's not some indication that something is having problems.

Mike have you heard of doing this to exercise your abs sensors? Seems like I have read on other forums of people clearing their amigos by doing this every month or so. They also stated that british electronics last longer when they are used every once in a while... I have nothing other than hearsay but I am curious to other thoughts.

read the owners manual,
you can download a copy if you dont have one.
If by following the owners manual the system isnt functioning as it says it should then you might have a system thats starting to have a problem
