head bolts stretch or not?

These engines are all aluminum: block, heads, oil pan, intake manifold, and valve covers. You do not want to over torque anything.

Going with non stretch bolts from napa. Loose to much torque with stretch bolts.

ARP head studs aren't much more than the replacement stretch bolts and will apply the torque more evenly. These with the non-composite gaskets work great and if you do have an issue down the road with something and have to remove the heads you can reuse them.

Ditto...Have them on one of my LR's.. Yes... I have more than one...I am a idiot and haven't learned my lesson...

Just to bump this, does anyone have suggestions on which ARP studs to use, and the torque spec/ stages?

ARP make a stud kit specically for LR.

Yup, just found it. Just one more question.

- Some say torque to the full ARP recommended 80ft.lb. in increments, some say not to go all the way to 80ft.lb. for fear of pulling the threads from the block. Does anyone have any experience to this end?
