Default Head Gasket Exhaust Leak...Can It Be Driven

I've come across a 2000 Disco that has an exhaust leak at the head gasket. Problem is, if I buy this car, I'll have to drive it back home...about 400+ miles. Is this a bad idea with it leaking at the head gasket?

You're not asking one question, is it a head gasket leak, or an exhaust gasket leak at the heads? Only a mechanic looking at it can answer your question anyway.

Be prepared to trailer it, and be warned they're heavy and a pain to trailer, I've had to do it.

If you are blowing exhaust from between the head and the block, the gasket probably won't take a 4000 mile drive with out burning out a hot spot and throwing coolant.
