Head gasket Job Fail
#11
Thanks, that's about what it took, 30-45 min run time. I did alot of 5 to 7 min runs here at the house and every time it got warmed up it would smoke and I would shut it down. Then when I took it out on the road for a few 5 mile trips flooring it on and off it finally burned off. No smoke this morning at all. keeping my fingers crossed.

If you only got white smoke the first time you started it then that was residual from when the head gaskets went.
If you start it up in the morning and after 5 minute there is white smoke then take note.
If after 10 minutes then there may still be problems.
Looks like you did OK though.
Congrats!
Head gaskets not easy.
Keep an eye on coolant level.
keep an eye on temps.
Good job replacing the fan clutch.
Keep on truckin.

Fan clutch is on the way supposed to be here Monday. My fan can't decide if it wants to work or not. I'll start it and it'll work fine and an hour later I'll start it and it won't work, sometimes barely spinning at idle. I can rev it up and then let off and it'll start working again. Anyway will be glad to get that on and sorted.
New oil pump, new timing set, new head gaskets, rebuilt heads, new head bolts, valley gasket, thoroughly cleaned rocker assemblies, valve cover gaskets, oil separator, new crank sensor, oil pan gasket, all o-rings, all new hoses, new belt, new 180 gray thermostat, exhaust manifold gaskets, downpipe gaskets, new coolant bottle, new coolant cap, new water pump, bypassed throttle body heater.
So far no oil or coolant leaks, I'll just keep my fingers crossed for awhile.
Thanks for everybody's help, couldn't have done it without this forum. Spent way more time reading than working.

Update
New fan/clutch came today and fixed the temp problems. Now idling for 30 minutes at 194 and no higher than 195.6 with A/C on and off. 186.8 to 188.6 on the road. Also no more white smoke
I suppose I should put in a good word for ebay seller ky_scrap1 for their fast service. I ordered on Tues afternoon, they shipped on Wed and was delivered this morning Fri by FedEx. It works perfect and their prices seem more than fair. (no affiliation, just a satisfied customer)
I would have ordered from a board member here, but don't know who's who on here yet or who sells used parts so didn't know who or where to order from. I just needed a part and ordered the first one I found.
Now on to my new problems! I started a new thread on my newest problems. 02 sensors.
