Default head gasket job, getting rolling in Denver

My Disco II has been sitting put the last month over a leaking head gasket. It's blowing air below the manifold on the passenger side. The timing is bad due to the fact that I relocated to central Denver and don't currently have a garage. I'd like to get up and running but I need to solicit a little help here. I'm wondering if anyone in the Denver area would be interested in renting out a garage for part of the week. I also know a few people on this forum in Denver are quite resourceful so I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. I have most tools I would need but no where to work.

Additionally if anyone would like to comment on their experience replacing the head gaskets, please do. Things like...
How long should this take?
What to look out for.
What other components should I consider servicing along the way?
Should I give up and get rid of it?

I do enjoy driving it but it's been quite a lot of work already—one of the reasons I don't want to invest an additional $2000+ for the repair and labor.

2001, 136,000 miles

Replaced:
front drive shaft
Radiator
New plugs, wires and ignition coils
New brake pads and rotors
MAF sensor, and front oxygen sensors.

Needs new shocks and tires plus the brakes keep having issues.

Hopefully that covers it all.. Any generous takers?

I bought the victor reinz kit on eBay for $180 and used cooper spray on the block side of the gasket. So far no issues.

Also used blue hylomar rtv for the valley pan gasket.

And you must machine the heads.

I bought the VR set for $118 at autohausaz.com

It can take a lot longer than you think. But a pro shop usually figures 12-15 hours. Good hands can git-r-done in two weekends with machine shop inbetween, and no time off for SWMBO errands or TV, etc. If you can only throw an hour a day at it and have to work outside under a tree add more time.

You want new bolts. Head machining and valve job was $260 for me.

Sure that it is HG and not exhaust gasket?

I had the exhaust inspected. It's sound. No leaks. I can feel where the leak is coming off the block.

Mine did that as well. Don't do a lot of driving, because it will eat a groove in the block.

Yeah. I stopped driving it except for moving it from one side of the street to the other. We have monthly street sweeping here.

Holy cow pie! Why didn't I think of that, beats the hell out of the shade tree and rain twice a day. And no way SWMBO could hear me whispering to the truck....

you would be surprised how far your voice travels in one of those lockers, on a particular bad day the manger knocked on the door to see if things were "alright"

The storage unit is an interesting idea. I might not need it this time, but I'll keep that one in mind.
