head gasket and overheating question
Hello Guys,
I have a 96 disco se7 that starts to overheat after driving for awhile. Seems to do it after coming off the freeway. Holds temp fine around town. I havedrips of watercoming out of the tail pipe and white smoke (doesnt smell sweet to me). I was told it was head gaskets but want to make sure. Is there anything else that would cause this? The pump is said to be fine. Has new brass plug and resivour cap, thermostat. Hoses seem good. Dont see any leaks any where.
Thanks

RE: head gasket and overheating question
yes the front fans run with the air turned on and the manual fan is runnung when I looked at it a few times. I would have the system pressure tested but they have already tore the heads off. I am going to have it towed out of there as they did not get my permission to tear it down. So I have to proceed from there.
Thanks

RE: head gasket and overheating question
I told them not to remove any parts. I just wanted them to pressure test it, check compression. But at this point I just want it out of there. I did run down and look at the fan and it seems to spin freely. Can I just take the radiator out and have it tested for leaks?
Thanks
