Head Gasket question?
I have a 96 Discovery with about 151,000 miles on it. Yesterday while drive at various speeds the truck would seem to act like it wasn't getting gas for about a second then would jump back to the normal speed, this happened repeatedly. For example if I was going 50, it would drop to 45 or so, and this just kept on until I drove it straight to my mechanic. Could this be due to headgasket not maintaining pressure? Or could it be a loose fuel-injector? My truck usually takes a few seconds to turn over, and there is a smell of raw gas in the air when starting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is bad.
You do NOT need your injectors cleaned!!!
You can replace this yourself is you have basic tools.
www.discoweb.org has a tech section with a write up on how to replace it.

You should be good with Champion plugs. There's a been a few folks reporting issues with the higher end plugs (specifically +4's) and DI's. I believe Champion is what Rover puts in there at the factory?? Someone correct me if I'm off my rocker...
