A few days including time for the machinist. One day to get them out, one day for the mechanic and one day to get everything back together. I'm sure if you are real good and know a machinist it is possible to burn through everything in a day.

Default Matt

It took me a day to tear down to find out what else I needed to buy besides the gasket set. I am waiting on parts, my heads to come back from the mechanic who is cleaning and plaining. Also waiting on my radiator to get back from cleaning and flushing and than it should only take another day to put back together. It should go back together quicker than it comes apart, if all goes well.

So are you going to rebuild your heads your self or have someone do it?

Default Finally,

Thanks everyone for all the ideas and support! I got my parts in from Atlantic British and got to work. Had my head machined to zero, replaced all upper gaskets, radiator flushed and pressure tested, replaced plugs and wires( double plat and 8mm B&B racing wires), replaced resevoir and all resevoir hoses, thermastat, and polyvee velt. Put it back together and noticed a bit of a leak in the back by my fuel rail. Took IM off and found a small crack in the fuel line so I replaced it. Put the IM and everything that goes with that back on. Recharged my a/c . I put about 35 miles on it and never got above half way on the temp guage, so far so good.

Default Oh yeah

I also replaced my oil pan gasket because it had a small leak, ran an engine flush though and than changed the oil.

The head gasket is one of the most important seals in the engine, which designed to withstand the intense heat and pressure of the combustion process as it forms the seal between the cylinder head and the engine block. So to rplace it you have to contact your near auto parts mechanics or head gasket repair dealers.

Used Car,
What are you talking about? If you cant work on your own car you should not own a land rover or you better get ready to pay a few thousand dollars everytime you go to the shop. I purchased factory spec head gaskets and gaskets for the whole top end. I do not need to pay someone to show me how to work on my car. Read the RAVE manual and you have the same knowledge as the Rover techs. Simple as that.
