Default Head Gaskets in Chattanooga Tn

Anyone know a good mechanic near Chattanooga Tn?
My daughter has my 2002 Discovery at school there and the head gasket went out.
She took the car to Bavarian Auto and was quoted $3,300
I do all the work myself so hate to pay that, even if I didn't that seems way overpriced.
I am in Texas or would do it myself, getting here would be $500-$700, parts most likely $500, realistically maybe $1,500 getting it here and doing it so I'm willing to pay closer to $2,000?
It only has 69,000 miles, I've replaced the driveshaft, idler pulleys, inline thermostat mod, power steering pump, etc etc so it shouldn't need anything else for a long time
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Rusty

I am looking for someone in Chattanooga to do the work, if I can't find a reasonable price to have it done in Chattanooga I'll get it hauled to me in Texas and do it myself
The parts are fairly inexpensive, that's why I find the $3,300 estimate overpriced
It's crazy how many shops I have called that won't even work on Land Rovers!
Anybody??

Ask if they'll work on a '61 Buick. Not much different in terms of a headgasket job. Just more stuff to take off to get to the heads.

Skeeter at Rover Land in Dawsonville is great to work with. He is about 100 miles from Chattanooga so if you have AAA premium or another roadside service: they have 100 mile free towing on some of their packages. If you can not find anything closer: this could be a very good option.

If its the slow external kind of leak you can probably drive it if it is well bled and you keep an eagle eye on the coolant level.

I think this is the way to go, as I said, it will cost me at least that much to get it home and do it myself.
Is that price for both heads?
Do I need to ask about that price or is that his going rate?
I'll give him a call in the morning
Thanks

That was my first thought but I have a 9 hour drive and apparently it is a pretty good leak
If I can get them done for $1,200 I'm not sure I would even do them myself.

Yep, Skeeter at roverland. Mine had an external leak and I drove it an hour and a half for him to do the job. He did that and replaced all seals and gaskets. He really knows his stuff and will help in any way he can. I call him from time to time just to ask maintenance questions and he always picks up the phone and answers any questions I have.
