the less expensive kit has all the same studs as the more expensive one, plus a few extra used on the early blocks.

eight extra to be exact.

well thank-you for throwing that out there, I would rather hear it from a supplier than going with a email rom ARP's sales department.

must be one of those super trade secrets. hope you don't get drummed out.
at that price there really leave no reason not to use them.

and I apologize for the misinformation .

Yeah I agree, it's crazy. It's something we found out AFTER we bought the more expensive kit. Enjoy the free info

Here is the info from ARP

Kit # 157-4301 has (14) studs that are 3.350 inches overall long, and (6) studs that are 4.550 overall long. Both have 1.00 inches of thread on both ends.

If someone has the cheaper kit. How does it compare....

It was my understanding that the 157-4301 studs were longer to have more thread engagement in the block.

that's what ARP claims, But it would be good to know.
I don't think Zach would have put it out their if he wasn't sure.

because the 8 stud left over from each kit would add up,
basically every third kit is almost free.

you can order the needed separate studs from ARP.

for someone like myself that's a huge saving instead over buying 3 of the "new improved" studs kits.

Default Got mine off ebay

I used the longer threaded studs on my 4.0 and uber glad I did. Tried the streatch bolts and didn't like how they felt being torqued down. Ive built many other brands of v8s with ARP and it was a no brainer on my disco! Glad I did! Been driving 7 months with no issues or leaks. I had the heads shaved 60 thousands to bump the comp. Made a difference in performance. I only use 93 octane so not an issue and live in hot south florida. No detonation what so ever so go for it!
