Default RE: Headlight condensation

Hey guys

I had the same problem, passenger side. I unscrewed the four screws, took off all of the sealed covers (the things in the back to access each lightbulb)... I noticed one of the seals was wet, I turned the headlight upside down and let the water drain out. I heated up my oven to 170F (the lowest it would go). I sat a Pyrex bowl rightside up and placed the headlight assembly back end up on top of the Pyrex. I had all of the access covers off, facing up so that the remaining water could evaporate. After about 30 minutes, no more water or condensation. I sealed everything back up and re-installed.... problem fixed.

FYI... make sure the access covers are nice and tight before re-installing.

They repalced the entire unit. No questions, no hassles.
I'll pull the service report from my files this weekend and post their description and solution for you.

Thanks so much for the info. Don't worry about going to all that trouble unless others would find it useful as well. Thanks again.

I finally took the whole headlight assembly out and put it in the oven 250 degrees for 3 minutes on a wet piece of cardboard (try at your own risk!), then let the unit sit in my living room overnight to rid the unit of any condensation. I went to wal-mart and bought a tube of automotive silicone and resealed around where the lens meets the housing unit. I'm hoping this works, so far it has perfectly!
