Default Headlight gaps?

Trying to redo parts of the front end of my 2003. One thing I've long procrastinated doing is replacing the headlights on my ride. I'll include some pictures, so basically, there are extremely noticeable gaps behind both headlight and I'd like some input on what I can do for this. Also, is there an aftermarket solution to convert these to 5x7 or circular headlights?

you can see in the second photo that they aren't actually installed....the guide pins are not pushed in properly or even at all based on that photo.

Yep Guide Pin's aren't making it into the wings.

Okay, so I believe that this vehicle has been in a minor collision, for the passenger side is actually pushed inward from the fender side. I crawled underneath and carefully pried the sheet metal and now the guide dowel will line up. The other side was just a minor fitment error.

So am I stuck with this style of headlight? I hear pre-facelift headlights can be changed, but what about these? Is there any sort of kit or mod where I can fit 5x7 or circular lenses to the front end?

These can not be changed easily. You can fit HID projectors into them with minimal work and that would increase light output in a good and non blinding way significantly.
