Headlight lens removal
Short story is, you can do this but, know before hand where all the tabs and screws are and have the tools ready as the headlight cools off fast.
I would say buy a broken one and test out the process first.
Here is a video
It's not a big deal.
200 F degrees for 5 minutes, check, then 5 more.
Most ovens don't set lower than 350 F, so a temperature gun is needed.
All you are doing is warming and softening plastic tabs.
That way, when you flex the tab up to release it, it doesn't snap off. As said above, be ready to work fast.
Once the clear lens is popped off, you can let it cool, clean it, run a fine bead of clear silicone, and snap it back on. I have to do the passenger side on my 04, as soon as I fix 10 other things.

Yes, and there aren't any fumes.
You're not heating it up enough to melt or burn it.
Just warming it enough so the plastic is not brittle, and the clips don't snap, especially with it's age.
I would put it on a foil lined pan, and watch it carefully, as all ovens are different. Some heat up faster than others.
