headlight and taillight questions
My pass. side headllight assemblyis dimmer than the driver side. I noticed the small running light bulb below the halogen? headlamp on the pass. side is burnt out or just not working but I dont think thats it since its so dim compared to the headlamp above it, tho it could be indicitive of the greater problem?
Now the drivers side is so bright that people flash their brights at me. I have noticed that a previous owner had damage to the front drivers corner so I think someone fiddled w/ the headlight and sidelight assemblys when doing bodywork. Maybe they rewired it wrong, creating an "always on" bright? It still seems to get brighter when I hit the brights so maybe not?
So either the pass. side is too dim or the drivers side is too bright. Both assemblys along with the bulbs appear to be identical. One thing to note: the brighter drivers side assembly lens has condensation inside that never goes away. After peering at the tops of the headlight assemblys it seems that they arent sealed super well because I can see a thin line of light escaping between the lens and the dark body of the backside, so I'm guessing a little water once got in the drivers side light while the pass. side was spared. Just thought I'd mention that even tho it may have no bearing.
Could this just be a case of one halogen? headlamp being "fresher" than the other? How easy is it to get in there and change lamps? I popped off the plastic shield along the top and noticed three adjustment screws but noticed no typical phillips head screws. At least I want to get into the assemblys to change the little parking lamp on thepass.side.
Last question: does anyone know the proper lamp # for the dualrear taillight running lamps? Kragen didnt seem to have the proper ones. Also is anyone having problems with these burning out? I've noticed quite a few discovery 2's driving around with one tailight out.

RE: headlight and taillight questions
Headlight being dimmer could be either problems. Condensation in headlight will reflect light differently making it look dimmer (or brighter on occasion). It could also bethat the drivers' side is out ofalignment, if you have not checked this, pull up to a garage at night, get your tape measure out andalign it with the passenger side. Last, and probably the cause of your problem is the actual bulb. Ifit's a second hand vehicle and you've never replaced thebulbs, and the vehiclehas had front end damage one of the bulbs has probably been replaced and not the other.Theheadlight bulbs and taillight bulbs are available at any auto parts store and will probably fix yourproblem.

RE: headlight and taillight questions
replace both front headlights at the same time and get your drivers side adjusted.
Don't remember the # for the tail lights, but they are an odd #. Not 1156 or something normal. Most people have burned out lights because they are a pain to change and most Jiffy Lube's don't carry the bulbs.
