Default Headlights 2002 Discovery Two

So do I really need to spend $200. for a headlight from AB ? are they different from what I might buy at a auto parts store?
Some are $19. and then there's the $100. one. I'm sure I need the $100. but is there a difference between $100 or the $200?
I'm replacing an original headlight!
thanks for your information and opinions !

Bulb or head light housing? Two very different parts with two very different prices. Ebay is probably your best bet for a used head light housing unless you want to take a trip to a local salvage yard and find one. Salvage yards are normally 25.00 for the entire housing. Bulbs are just normal H4/9003 and are usually 20-50 for a pair of bulbs depending on the style.

My housing is fine so I just need a bulb and will buy a new one. I was wondering whether there was a reason to buy the more expense one from AB.
Also there is a little bulb that fits in the housing that is still working on the side that needs replacement but not the passenger side!
Love my Rover so different from other vehicles !!!

Just go to a local auto parts store if you need a new bulb. What you're looking at at Atlantic British is the entire headlight housing that's why it's $200.

You need a H4/9003 bulb for the headlight, and I think a 2825 for the little bulb in the housing (the "city light").

Replacement is easy:
1. Open the hood
2. Pop off the plastic cover above the headlight
3. Remove the screw holding the turn signal in place and pull the turn signal to the side (no need to unplug)
4. Carefully pull forward on the entire headlight. It snaps into place - the plastic pieces that attach it can be brittle so try not to break them. The headlight will come out.
5. Unplug the connectors and remove the dust boot around the back of the main bulb.
6. Undo the clip that holds the main beam bulb in place and remove it. Insert the new one *being careful not to touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers*. The oils from your skin will cause it to burn out quickly.
7. Install is the reverse of assembly.

Replacing the city light bulb is similar but it isn't' as complicated of a clip. This is a 5 minute job. The 2825 bulb will be a few bucks and maybe the H4/9003 will be maybe $10.

Most of the bulbs on AB are $10-$30 with some as low as $4. The only thing that's $200 is the entire housing.

If you have a 94-02 glass housing the AuxBeam Eagle Series LED is superb! Actual Hi/Lo beam & zero glare. LED is 360 like a traditional bulb. I think the last set I bought was 40.00 for the pair online.
