Default Heads up - Britpart Elbow Pipe Failure

Hey Guys. Just a public service announcement. I put in a Britpart Coolant Elbow Pipe when I did my head gaskets a couple of months ago, and it has failed.

Also, I got a Genuine from the Dealership for less than a genuine advertised online.

Should have kept my original, but it had a nasty ding where it married to the hose, and I did not want leaks.

It has developed a crack at the weld where the bracket to the alternator bracket is.

I am growing increasingly disillusioned with Britpart.

Only thing I use by britpart is their thermostat (which I’m sure they don’t even make in the first place). I doubt they made the coolant pipe either. URO is the brand I avoid like the plague though.

I used URO breather hoses, which are so simple and under so little stress I hope they end up fine. The URO valley pan gasket clamps I got did not fit, not even close.

I'll be avoiding them in the future as well.

Back in my early days I ordered a URO parts coolant reservoir... it looked like it came from Toys"R"Us

Britpart is a life saver for a lot of parts, I probably buy 80% britpart. Things like seals, hoses, and o-rings I stick to genuine... as there is a very noticeable difference, especially with seals.

Before I replaced my engine, I had a few URO hoses. They began to leak at the house clamps. Tighten one, drip at another. Junk!

Yeah I had a URO reservoir on one of my D2’s when I bought it. I went to fill it & I ripped the entire neck off with the cap.... I cringe now whenever I see URO on a LR.

Just picked up my Genuine Elbow Pipe. My goodness, the Britpart is flimsy in comparison.

URO does make one worthwhile part! The plastic fuel door latch

Even the Britpart O Ring was **** poor. The genuine is much thicker.

You can see the crack that the Britpart Pipe developed. Less than 1,500 miles, disappointing.
