Default Heated Seat Activation Kit?

I'm buying a beautiful '04 D2, but it does not have heated seats. However, the seats are leather and google searches indicated installing and activation kit should be good.

My issue is the activation kits don't seem to be available anymore. I see a lot of disparate parts. Anyone know if the kits are around? If not, what are all the different parts I need to put together?

Just find a heated seat plate with switches on EBay. They go for around $50 then it's ylug and play.

You just need the switches and the face plate if you want it to look factory. You will have to visit the salvage yard and take the parts from there.

I recently did that and one switch was bad so I bought another on eBay

Nope. Install the switches and the heated seats will work.

If the heating elements in the seats aren't broken. Which they often are.
But that's a different issue than implementing the system overall.

If the heater elements are installed, and they are installed on vehicles with leather seats, the wiring is already in place. This includes the terminals for the switches. You simply plug in the switch.
Left and right side are different switches and thus different plugs, so if one doesn't fit, try the other.

Can confirm, heating pads and wiring is in place already. Get a pair of used switches from ebay or junkyard. No need to buy a bezel, you can cut the openings and grind them to size. If you do it accurately, it looks like stock (even my wife didn't notice that hack).

Oh, that's a great idea!
