Hey I have a 2003 Disco SE7. Yesterday I cranked the vehicle and went to put it in "park". Gear shifter will NOT go into "drive" and brake lights do not work, or cruise control. Today I installed a new "brake sensor" and check all the fuses...STILL NOTHING! Please help....THANKS

You need to drive first before cruise control will work - or was that just a random thought?

Ok...Im driving it but I had to lift up the console and manually press the pin with my finger, while driving the cruise doesnt work, nor the brake lights. It all started yesterday when I hooked a trailer up for the first time.

A very key piece of information here. The signs you first related sounded like it may be the switch on he rear of the brake pedal. However, since we now know it started after the first-time trailer hook-up leads me to believe that the trailer wiring and the Rover wiring perhaps may not have been shall we say compatible with one another. I have read other threads where people damaged their Discovery when they first hooked up to a trailer. I also saw something recently regarding the differences between US standard 7 pin trailer wiring and the Disco Trailer plug wiring.

That would be the place I would start. And definitely do a better job of writing up the real issue if you want help, otherwise go figure it out yurself.

I got you, and yeah Im new up here so now I know how to Post a little better haha, but thank you and the others above for the info. So if thats the case it seems that it would have shorted something out. But is there not a seperate fuse or relay for the trailer wiring? If so it could just be that simple.

What kind of trailer plug do you have? 4 way flat, or the original 7 way round that virtually nothing in the USA plugs into?
