just got a 2004 disco se7

she has 165k miles
all el3cal seems to be working fine
just worried bout the "service engine soon" light on
tapping sound under the engine after warm up
ant tips before sending it for inspection

need to find out what codes are causing cel. if you don't have an obdII reader, take it to a parts store like autozone....they will pull the codes

You bought it with the CEL/SES on? Did you buy it from a dealer or from a private party?

 

And it ticks after its warmed up?

 

NJ doesn't care about the tapping noise. They will care about the CEL being on for inspection, and you will fail. (Emissions only state) Autozone will read the codes for you for free and get back to us.

she ticks after 3 to 5 mins after starting, when i press the gas pedal it seems the tick goes faster
