I dont think you are an idiot. What you just described with the DI is what the DII looks like to me, No where near the mirrow, Large opening, easy to get to, just cant find any screws unless they are the ones that go through the latch from the side of the door. Thanks for your time just want to get it right, No hurry it's a third car for my soon to be 16 year old daghter, you guessed it, Chelsea.

On my DI I think the screws went from the inside of the door through the actuator, there were nuts on the back side if I remember right and those are what I dropped inside the door, had to fish them out with a mechanics magnet.

Spike, you really are an idiot if for even 1 second you thought I was calling you an idiot. I think weknow each other a little better than that....come on now don't make me feel like that you idiot

The actuator is locatedat the end of the door. the latch and actuatorare part of the same unit. To remove the actuator, you have to remove the window frame since it passes right by the actuator in such a way that you can't remove it cause the frame is in the way. To remove the window frame, you have to remove the mirror. I've done all 5 doors on my D2 and there's no going around the directions given on the Rave cd.

DC-I will have to refer you to Darover on this, like I said befoer I am a idiot (it's ok Steph, we know each other better than that) and I do not know what else is holding you up.
Luckly it is your third car as this is taking WAY longer than any of us anticipated, your next one will be done in 30 min, so look at the bright side.
If he doesnt reply yet tonight then send him a PM, he will reply.
Good luck. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

At the front end of the door, there's a bolt at the top, just like there's 3 bolts holding the latch actuator unit at therear end. Doea this make sense at all ???being french kindof limits me in my explanations.

Sorry for late reply, just got out of the table. I'll be in my Gym but will come back a few times between sets while I catch my breathe.....Leg day !!!!

Before installing the new actuator, you should take the opportunity to grease it all up real good, especially at the seams where the black part meets the whitepart to avoid rain water getting inside and do dammage sooner than it should.

Not really taken as long as it seams, Took tha door panel off Sun. to take a look around. took mirror and bolts out this afternoon about 30min. actuator not due in till tomorrow. anyway the bolt you are talking about is the one I described as upper frame bolt, hinge side (star head) should it be that hard to pull the frame up or am I missing something else.
