its an '04 Disco II with 105k miles on it. this is what she told me

"plumes of smoke bellowed out the back it lost power then no gears at all. You can rev the engine but nothing happens, and there is oil all over my car. A french mechanic said its the gearbox!"

any ideas? blown Head Gasket?

 

She needs answers today and all we are able to do with what you describe is guess which won't help her.
She needs to find a shop and at least have it inspected to see what blew.

 

now that i thought about it some more maybe the drive shaft blew a hole in the tranny.... cuz she can rev the engine....

 

its getting towed back to England right now.

 

Ouch!

 

now i'm gonna try and find her an Indie Mechanic in Liverpool.

yeah thats what i told her 2 do,.. i said take pics from every angle of the underside of the truck... we have a few guys from England on here. i think...
