Look at the YG wire you bypassed. The bypass wire should be that size or larger. That said, it's pretty small.

The electrical circuits diagram shows it's a 0.5mm2 wire, which is about 21 gauge. I suspect the problem is not that the wire you used was too thin.

I don't know of any forum members where you are that have a Nanocom or Hawkeye. You might try to find an independent shop that works on Rovers to read the codes for you, but most charge an hour labor to do that. Maybe it's time to drop ~$100 on a diagnostic tool that will read the ABS codes.

The wire I used is definitely smaller than the wire in the harness that plugs into the shuttle valve. I have a Bosch code reader and although not the least expensive one it isn't one that cost me several hundred dollars. I will have to see if it can read ABS codes.

Really?

It's pretty darn small.

Take another look at the YG wire you cut. It's pretty darn small.

I'd use 14 gauge or 16 gauge for this mod. Have done it on a # of D2's... works fine. 18 gauge feels too small, 12 gauge feels too big.

Very unscientific of me .. but 14/16 should be fine.

It was at least as thin as the wire in the switch and definitely smaller than the body harness. I really need to ger a code reader. Tonight I took the truck for a drive and no 3 Amigos. What would cause them to go on and off randomly?
