Default Help: P1000 (249) Leakage Detection Module - leak detected

Gents,

I've changed my sparks, packs, cats, sensors etc and STILL this damn code shows up WTF:
P1000 (249) Leakage Detection Module - leak detected

Any insights are appreciated; this has been going on for a year and change now. Cant pass emissions.

Have you done a smoke test? Sounds like an EVAP leak.

Often times this code is from a bad gas cap, have you tried replacing that?

I have not, my ride has 165K on it, I would assume its time? would you recommend OEM or aftermarket?

it's $40 for OEM gas cap from Lucky8. Mine has had a large evap leak for two years now. Changing the gas cap didn't help. Supposedly also one of the solenoid valves goes bad and you are supposed to replace that with a Huyndai one, except that it looks like they don't make that one anymore as well. I reset the code so many times that it i think the ecu gave up on tripping the check engine light at this point...

Aftermarket should be fine, whatever is cheapest on amazon or ebay.
