Default Help!!! Starting Problem 98 LSE

I was in a car wash, and it all the sudden quit running. When I tried to start it, I would turn the key, and all I can hear is a clicking sound coming from what looks like the alarm module behind under the glove box, and a similar clicking under the hood around the throttle body. It would crank over and over, but it wouldn't even try to start.

Eventually, after it sat a while, I tried to start it, and the check engine light came on, but it then started. It only started after the check engine light came on. The light then went off as usual, and it seemed to run fine. I got it home, and it wouldn't start again.

Has anyone experienced this before? Did I just get something wet? Is it an alarm problem?

I experienced this same thing in the car wash. Put it out in the sun and it started 3 hours later. About 5 months later the same thing happened except no water was involved. I called for a tow after a few hours and just before the tow truck showed up it started. I have asked many mechanics including at dealerships and nobody has any idea what it is. luckily it hasn't happened to me to recently but i still hand wash my car b/c i don't like having to push a heavy LR out of a car wash.

There is A TIB about water getting into the engine ECU connectors. It involves sealing around the ECU. If your Check Engine Light Came on, it stored codes and needs to be diagnosed.
