I said "Reflector" but I meant "Projector" kits.

Stayed up to late that night I guess. Sorry for the confusion.

Default HID projector retrofit

this is my write-up from last year of my retrofit, scroll down the page a bit to see the pictures.
overall I am happy with the results, i use these along with driving lights in the bumper for plenty of light and no, I do not have glare or blind oncoming traffic. the projectors are aimed the same as the halogen housings and the cutoff does not allow any light above that. I have about $200 in them with everything

I see you have a 2003 D2. I have had my HID retrofits installed installed in my 03 D2 for over 3 years now. The way our headlamps are setup do not blind drivers, provide a good spread and does not scatter. On a pre 2003 D2 I can definitely see those headlamps providing scattered lights when retrofits HID are installed. I use a 4300k bulb, in my opinion 4300-6000k is close to stock on most cars, the ricers are using 10+k and that is plain stupid not to mention useless in the rain. I say go for it, you won't regret it.

I'd respectfully disagree. HID's are designed to have a projector to focus and shield the light. The D2 light assembly is designed to focus a halogen lamp specifically, as the halogen lamp has the low beam filament shielded in the globe.

And believe me, even Down Under, Joe Schmoe knows that the D2's didn't come with HID's, took some fast talking to avoid a hefty fine at a breath testing station because of the HID's I had fitted at that time.

Nope, you can't. Not possible in a halogen housing.
It's a common misconception that beam cutoff is what it's all about.
