I'm keen on installing a winch that's recessed behind the front bumper of my '03, but I understand that the 03-04 Discos have different bumpers than do the other D2s.

Anyway, DAP has the hidden winch mount. It mounts to the frame behind the bumper.

I'm leaning toward a Warn XD9000 as it seems to be the smallest (in terms of physical size) winches that I can findyet hasenough pulling power.

The biggest concern is whether or notthe winch willfit. The second concern is will everthing bolt up with too much addtional work? Lastly, how much cutting of the front bumper will be required?

As it stands, I'm turning it over to some talented local mechanics to install. But I'd also like to know if this is something that an autobody shop is better suited for.

I've sent an email to UP, but wanted to know if anyone else can foresee any problems.
