Default High beam lights not turning on

Hello friends,
I am working on my green 95 disco. I know that the green color ones are nothing but bad luck. I am a testament to it. The first week of ownership, it got side swiped by a hit and run truck.
Any ways, I am working on the disco to get it running in tip top shape.
My current problem is that the Hella Rallye 4000 - Euro Beam Driving lights are not going on.
Any thoughts, I am not that good with the electrical system. The truck looks as if it came as original equipped due to the front push button switch.

Your help is very much appreciated,
George

You need to find the switch that controls those lights. They more than likely are not tied directly into the factory head light switch.

I will do that! Can I feed a regular line from the battery to the light so that I can see if the light is actually working?

Yes, you can run a jumper wire from the positive battery terminal to the positive of the as a temporary way of seeing if the light works. For a permanent install make sure to use a relay.

The Hella lights on my 97 were wired to the rear fog light switch when I bought the truck.

Thanks, I use the wire to check for the light. If the light works then I will check the relay and then the switch.

Take good care,
George

Problem fixed! I might need to find a replacement relay.

Do land rover makes the relay for the hella rallye lights? Or is it a product made by Hella. The particular relay controlling the light is blue in color and made in Germany.

Please let me know if any one has replaced this particular relay.

Thanks,
George
