Default High Engine temp after rebuild

Finally got my discovery back after almost a year getting rebuilt. Before i sent it off it had the inline mode and i was seing temps of high 180s and mid 190s. Almost never getting above 200. They went back to the factory coolant system i asked them to put a 180 t stat in and they said they did. Went on like a 15 minute drive and i had a average of about 215 and a high of 223. They replaced the radiator as well. Fan clutch? Air?

Bad thermostat. Not uncommon for new out of the box factory style thermostats to allow some bypass of the radiator. Back to the inline mod...

I have a several factory style 180's (two grey, one black) I am happy to send you for free plus shipping, but I obviously wouldn't recommend wasting your time. Did you keep the old inline setup?

That is normal temps for a oem thermostat completely normal
why in the world wod you go back to a oem style system. Even the 78 c stat failed **** on me 3 months old. Ultraguage saved the day

So this is the one they used for the price im guessing thats where the high temps are coming from. Idk if any of you guys have any experience with calorstat.
hopefully the LR part will will bring them down.

I haven’t yet switched to Extinct’s mod, but my T-stat is 180 and my Ultragauge reads pretty consistently in the high 190’s.

Just go with the Inline. it's the same amount of work and cheaper and better in the long run.
