High speed vibration.
No movement in the yoke. I will go ahead and replace this loose one. I might as well replace the joint on the back shaft to, its original and I have no idea if previous owners greased it, I also cannot get grease to come out one of the cap junctions.
IIRC the UJ are around 15 - 20 bucks. Cheap enough for peace of mind for a long trip.
Just gotta supply the elbow grease.
BTW enjoy the trip!

does anyone know what size nut is used holding the rear driveshaft and if it is a nylock nut that needs to be replaced or can the old ones be reused? If I need new nylocks I want to grab them while out in the city today.
Just replaced the u-joint on rear shaft, it seemed okay maybe a little floppy. But, I think I found the problem. Several of the nuts holding the shaft on where about finger tight. You can see where the shaft rubbed a shiny spot on the parking brake drum

Also, because of the slop the set screw on the drum had backed out proud of the drum face, slightly holding out the yoke flange. You can see the imprint on the flange

So If I had tried to tighten the nuts down the set screw would have held the flange slightly crooked. So If you find these nuts to be loose, you need to drop this side of the shaft and make sure the set screw on the drum has not backed out.
I will try to get it out on the interstate tomorrow to check if the vibration is fixed, but I would be shocked if this was not the cause of my problem.
