Default Homemade accessory...

Hi Guys,

I thought I would share with you a project my brother and I have been working on. We mapped a LR logo and used a CNC machine to make a custom front license plate out of aluminum. Here are some photos of the plate fresh out of the mill and after paint. I have been perfecting the process and hopefully will have it streamlined soon to start making other custom plates. I think it turned out pretty well!

It looks good. Curious though how much it cost to make it?

The paint was the most expensive input ($8), the aluminum cost all of two dollars (at most). My brother works for a company that has the mill, I think it costs them about $60k. The element that took the most time was mapping the logo to program the machine.

All things considered, I either have the most expensive -- or cheapest -- license plate by far...

Would look good up on a roof rack like the G4 and Camel trophy plaques.

Keep it very low key. Rover takes trademark infringement very seriously.

If you make it for your self its probably ok, its when you try and sell them is when you run into problems.

Very true. I would have to sell a bunch of hose things to finance my legal defense fund!
