Default Hood Blackout what is your opinion?

I'm trying to figure out whether to buy a hood blackout or just use spray paint. What is your opinion?

The blackout is great ...., perfect coverage ... Blocks the glare...clean set up.
But it can be peeled back.
esthetically it will look better to get the blackout decal.

Either or would be good but if you can achieve the same goal for cheaper then paint it. Wont peel back and if you do it right it will look clean. Id do some research on the best paints to use and consider using a couple layers. Should not be difficult task though.

Plasti-dip. Best if both worlds. Cheap and easier to install than the decal. Just tape off the area and spray it. Don't like it? Just peel it off, like the decal. I have the Vigg Designs decal. It's nice but was a pain to get right by myself. Ended up with a couple air bubbles/specs of dust. Had to tape the deal under the hood at the windscreen edge of the hood to let it dry so it would adhere.

I second this. I've done this for a long time. Its cheap and its not permanent, which are things I'm all for.

Nope, your pretty much covered it. There are a few youtube videos on how to lay down the different coats, but its pretty easy all the same.

I painted my '95 10 or so years ago. Touched up some scratches once.

I might just have to do this...... it's nice to be able to change your mind.
