Anyone happen to know the part number of the plastic shroud beneath the hood latch? Can’t seem to find it yet.
My hood cable broke at the latch, and I’ve just got everything exposed and opened up. I have access to a parts truck, however I’m thinking it may be easier if it’s a cheap delivery to the door. I have pn to new cable- but I cut the shroud to release the hood.
I left mine off, it is just an anti theft device for under the hood. If my battery goes flat while the doors are locked I can get the hood open with a long allen key or screw driver and charge it up to get in the Disco.
I also took Richard's lead and removed my cover. I had a battery fail on me a couple a year ago while offroading. Thank god the doors were unlocked when this happened.
I made that winch tray to be a discrete setup behind the OEM bumper. I wanted the look of the original front end & ability to tug myself out of trouble..
That look great! is the 'C' channel bolted to the frame using the OEM bolt holes, or welded?
i'm curious.....So I think I see a few other mods besides lift and tires and winch mount and steering rod... corrected radius arms? if so, what degree for what inch lift...thx!
that looks great! Is the 'C' channel steel just bolted to frame using the OEM bumper holes? I see where 'part' of the OEM crush cans are used.
That’s actually 1/4x3x3 angle - I created a “truss” support extending the frame to winch tray to the place the winch specifically in the center of OEM bumper. There are no crush cans, those are the mounting bracket “ears” for the bumper facia. The angle and the gussets extend all way thru to the face of the winch tray, because I made plates for recovery points. - however I have a nice vintage Land Rover “A” bar (the hard to find one) that covers those position perfectly. So I want to run the looks of the A bar at the sacrifice of the recovery points for a little while before I finish the fab work.
It’s a nice reminder not to put the truck in tooo precarious situation without proper armor upfront…

do you have a link to your build?
its all welded solid. The truck is very heavily modified. I should make a link to some photos, & a long list of custom modifications. Much more fun fabricating and testing then I designated time to post it.
