The 4.0 has 187 horspower at 4750 rpm's. The 4.6 is 217 horsepower at 4750 rpm's. The torque for the 4.0 is 250 at 2600 rpms.

I had a "high-output" I-6 Cherokee 5-speed. It was rated at 190 hp and 225 ft lbs torque. That thing could move pretty good, it didn't weight too much, especially before I put the lift on it.

There is not much you can do without spending a fortune onperformancemachine work, such as porting and polishing the heads or/and making it a stroker. There's no performance heads available like domestic v8's. You can put on some magnacorewires and performance plugs. If you have oversized tires like 265 or bigger you can install lower gears.

no the 4.6 is in the disco 2's.

the jeep is a 4.0L inline 6 rated at 190/235.

your 4.0L disco is 187/250.

you up on power, but also up on weight.

The 4.6L is ONLY in the 2003 and 2004 models. Not all Disco IIs.
