Default How is a 2" lift going to effect my MPG?

My truck is in need of new shocks, I'm at 150k so I figure I should do springs too. It seems cheaper to do a TF 2" than to get factory springs, but I'm concerned about the increase in MPG with the lift.

What have been your experiences with MPG after a 2" lift?

Most people install larger/taller tires after a lift and both will hurt your MPG's. My guess you will drop about 1mpg on the lift and another 1mpg for each inch taller the tires you run over the stock 29".

I get about 13mpg on average driving though town mostly. When I'm strictly on the highway I get 17-18ish.

I test by filling up, setting the trip and filling up again and dividing how many miles I've driven to the amount of gas I need to fill up again.

Also running 32" tires

I lost 1 MPG when I lifted my D2. I had 265/75R16 BFG All Terrains mounted before and after the lift and those really didnt affect the MPG too much, but the moment I put the lift on I could tell I lost some MPG. I mean these are D2's, when I get over 14 MPG I'm pretty happy.

I am using that same method but only getting about 10 mpg with everything stock except factory brush guard. Would the SES light affect it?

I changed all 4 O2 sensors and saw a fairly dramatic improvement in fuel economy... (prior to my lift and tire installation when everything was stock). Haven't checked it since the mods...

Was it enough to make up for the cost of the sensors?

Engine performance has greatly improved... The slight stumble at idle is gone. The slight hesitation under acceleration is gone... It pulls better uphill...

I've had a chance to drive it around town and on a highway run...

City MPG 13.5 - up from 10.2

Highway MPG 16.4 - up from 12.2

This was all prior to the lift and larger tires...

With premium fuel running around $4.00 per gallon here, it won't take too many tanks of fuel to pay for the sensors... Sensors equaled about the same as 50 gallons of fuel at $4.00 per gallon or $200.00

10 is way too low. Assuming you aren't driving like a lunatic, depending on what the check engine light is on for it may dramatically affect the mpg's

I have 265 rugged terrains and they are 32.8 inches and E rated. I get 13.7 according to the ultra gauge. Of course it's here with my at the garage in work after I or hit on Thursday. Their limo company insurance is trying to just not answer so I'll be pushed to use mine. I would have done anything but now I'll push for compensation, I'm hurt right. I said all that cus I'll take that money, drop a 3.3 cummins and Allison tranny. Place out of Montana is doing it. The engines meet EPA standards so it is the cheapest most function I've found.
