Hey guys,

I have the new radiator in and everything is ready to go, but I need to add the coolant.

I put about 3/4 of a gallon into the reservoir before it stopped. Do I just start it and let it suck it down?

I am not to sure about the Disco but some need to be primed . If you start it and the fluid does not go down from the tank shut it off you need to get the air out of the system if the fluid does start to go down keep adding the fluid. Hope I was some help. I just changed my Tstat and lost alot of fluid and all I had to do was add more but I already had fluid at the pump.

 

Remove the bleed screw on the "T" portion of the top radiator hose.
Fill the resevour until coolant comes out of the "T"
Replace "T"
Start the truck making sure that you turn the heater (both sides) to HOT with the fan on low, have it blowing through the dash vents and roll down the drivers window.
Keep adding coolant keeping a eye on the temp gauge and feeling for heat from the vent.
Keep adding coolant until the upper radiator hose is to hot to touch, the temp gauge is in the normal range and you have cranking heat coming from the vents.
Leave the truck running until you replace the radiator cap.
Drive it for a day and then after it has sat overnight and is stone cold check the coolant level and top up as needed, do this for 3 days or until the coolant level stays full overnight.
This can take upto a hour to bleed the system, so have a cold Pespi handy.
