how to check radio ground wire?
hey guys,
does anyone know th procedure/process for checking your radios ground wire to ensure that it is secreulry grounded? do i need to remove head unit? (if so how do i do that? and will i need secrity code to get it to work again?) thanks for any help you cna give! -nick

Sorry, can't help you with #1, but as far as the radio code - if you disconnect power to the radio you're probably going to have to reset the code. I purchased my '98 Disco used, and the radio was not connected (probably because the folks who owned it before me didn't know how to get the code).
I went to LandRover.com's site and posted a question about obtaining the radio code. They asked me to fax a copy of my DL and either the registration or insurance card with the VIN. I also sent them the radio s/n. They had a code back to me within 24 hours. Just wanted to let you know, so you could be prepared, in case you don't have the code and wind up having to reset it....
