discoxd - that my friend is one funny comment, five star.

I took the time to read the so called article on "how to clean yo maf" and find it befuddling that, according to the article itself, the proceedure is a last resort thing to do as it also states - cleaning may or may NOT work for you, clean the maf at your own risk. It also reads like you should only try to do it when you experiance problems with it, that way you have nothing to loose. I think the vasoline is used on those seals as an excuse to have it near by when you are forced to pick up the phone and are told the cost of a new maf with tax, title, and delivery charges. Maybe if you leave the lid off the can, you can eliminate a step for when you really need relief.

PS - I don't care if you clean or not, I just enjoyed the contradicktion of the actual article.

Has anyone used the "Replacement Brand" MAF Sensor? It is being sold for $55.32 at familycar.com. Just curious if anyone has an experience with that brand?

I'm in the process of changing out my Y pipe and was looking at doing some other things while I'm at it. Like cleaning the MAF, but after reading this if I do I want to have another on hand.

Go Bosch or go home when it comes to MAF's. You will end up buying the Bosch anyway after the cheap one fails.
