Default How do I access the license plate bulbs?

Page 1281 of the rave seems to be a bit over the top and time consuming when all I want to do is replace the bulbs for inspection. The diagram says to remove the tail door latch and the motor! Is it really that in depth or is there an easier way to access the bulbs for the license plate? Thanks so much

You just need to remove the 2 screws holding on the clear bulb cover and pop it out. No need to remove the anything else. Simple, easy job

Before you buy standard bulbs to replace those that have burnt out, consider going LED. Looks like and lights up brightly.

the downside to led is they provide no heat, so there is nothing to melt the snow off the lens.

Good point about LEDs and giving off heat. I park my disco in my house garage, so very little snow build up. Even when I go out and run errands during a nor'easter here in Bah-ston, I don't get that much snow build up on the tail bumper such that the LP light is blocked. Even if sitting in a parking lot during a snow storm.

Anyhow, it's worked for me and I like the look. I think it took a 42mm bulb. LED topic has been discussed before here on the forum and should tail lights and such go LED. Don't want to open up this topic for discussion again. As a sidebar, I did place LEDs in the interior dome lights. Lights up nicely and the kids can see what they are doing in the backseat whenever they have to flip the dome light one because my daughter is making rainbow looms or my son lost a tire from his hot wheel mock LR Disco. FYI
