When you realize that after buying a new battery doesn't fix the slow crank issue, or it doesn't crank at all and the headlights still work. My issue was that the valve cover gaskets were leaking oil onto the starter, and after too much oil it finally just didn't crank.

I paid to get the new starter installed, but wish that I knew what I do now. It is very easy to get to and not difficult to change, but if the old one is covered in oil then you'll need to fix that too.
