Tell that to the Moose laying in the back of that crossover (Fifth pic down) cause it looks to me like he went "threw" the car, not "over" the car. and even if you manage to brake in time and come to a complete stop, that will not prevent a full grown 1,500 pound moose from trampling your car and probably killing you. I never speed on back roads, un-paved roads or anywhere where the road goes through thick woodlands... always anticipating a random hello from our local Moose, deer or Bear. Hell even a baby cafe moose can cause catastrophic damage!

I lived in New Hampshire for 3 years, I didn't have ACE, didn't even have sway bars on my RRC and somehow I managed to avoid hitting the Swamp Donkeys (moose), how did I do that again....

Oh yeah I had one thing you need from your LR, working brakes....

Only thing I ever hit up there was a raccoon on steroids, and the diff guard made short work of his ***.

I know this sounds horrible, but that sentence just made me laugh so hard! Imagining a cartoonish racoon just buff as hell smoking a cigar with an eyepatch leaning back to throw a punch as he's getting demolished by an impenetrable blob of steel. Bahahaha

Dont know where you've been but my brakes work sufficiently enough to get me to/from work daily. Not to mention I live on the side of a mountain where braking is critical to avoid excess speeds while going down hill - dont want to hit a moose after all

If you'd like I can record a clip of my brakes in action for ya.

You live on the side of a mountain and you don't understand the concept of engine braking to avoid excess speeds?

Difficult is no big deal. I just wanted to see if it required any cutting/welding or if the holes and such are already in the right place. Wiring, wrenching, and programming is no big deal to me, I just don't presently have the space to be welding stuff and having my truck on stands for weeks at a time.

Anyway, sounds like a bit of an undertaking, but mostly for my pocketbook :P

Thanks for the info.

I would rather not burn out the engine or transmission by relying heavily on engine for braking. I had to do that for afew weeks when my front caliper **** the bed and it was no fun. Ever since I replaced all the brake parts and got the brake system properly flushed my braking has improved, grant I still have a heavy pedal and the constant sound of airflow every time I step on the brake pedal, but the brakes are responsive nevertheless and the abs is still working fine.
